iExperience: Te Reo Maori

Learning Te Reo Maori

This week was Te Reo Maori Language Week, hence this week, my iExperience lessons were based on teaching learners essential Maori words and phrases!

My group of learners either had no knowledge of Te Reo,
or
very basic and limited knowledge of Te Reo.

I decided to start from the very basic (greetings) and move to more complex phrases and
memorising some daily/ classroom related words that they can use in their daily lives.

Learners loved learning the names of different colours and animals.
Many animals had very cute names in Maori such as raki raki (duck) and maki maki (monkey)!

We even sang 'Baby Shark' in Te Reo
We all had lots of fun learning and using Te Reo Maori this week!
