Trying out Flipgrid for the first time!

WHY USE 'FLIPGRID' IN YOUR CLASSROOM?
  1. IT'S FREE
  2. It is engaging
  3. It's interactive
  4. Allows students to express their creativity (with stickers and social media style likes)
  5. Makes differentiation fun and challenging






 In one of our PLC group meetings, My colleague Jen introduced me to this amazing online learning tool called 'Flipgrid'. Flipgrid is an amazing online app that can be utilised for many learning purposes. 

Educators can create their own channels and learners are able to join the channel just by clicking the link, typing the code in, or scanning the QR code. SIMPLE AND EASY! 

 The app itself is really easy to use and it can be easily accessed through phones, iPads and computers(laptops and chrome-books). 

 Learners are able to create their own video by clicking the green button with + sign in the middle. They can add texts, emojis, filters, draw with pen, etc...

I've tried this out with my independent yr 3 iExplore group. I've briefly introduced and modelled how to join the channel and create an interesting video using different tools available to them. 

 It was awesome to watch learners' videos. They were able to say some facts about their chosen topics and made interesting videos. It was wonderful to hear their voices as some learners are not too confident when it comes to sharing ideas with others and speaking in front of other people. 

 This app is great for formative assessment and also for presenting their projects. They can edit, stop, think, and also speak when creating their videos. This helps learners with their oral language as it allows them to practice speaking clearly and concisely.
