Book Character Day

Book Character Day 2019 was awesome and successful.  On Book Character Day, students, teachers, and staff dress up as their favourite characters from the books they love. We bring the book that our character is in, and we have a mini parade in the multi-space. There is so much creativity and obvious love of reading. Most of our learners in Maunga dressed up in their favourite book characters. I also noticed some wonderful and wacky costumes of learners from different habitats when I was on playground duty. It was a fun opportunity for learners to put them into their favourite characters' shoes and think from their characters' perspectives. This enhanced their motivation and engagement during reading lesson and elevated their creativity and imagination! It's awesome!
